AFS ‘On Our Screen’ Presents: “Songs My Brothers Taught Me” [2015 / Chloé Zhao / 98 minutes] – March 19th

The Aurora Film Society brings “Songs My Brothers Taught Me” to the screen at The Venue (21 S. Broadway) on March 19th at 7pm.

Centered around a young native man named Johnny and his life on the reservation known as Pine Ridge. He is torn between leaving his home town where his mother, incarcerated brother, and youger sister Jasuana live to be with his high school sweetheart who is leaving after graduation to start college in L.A… Aside from caring for his little sister, Johnny hasn’t a lot to leave behind in this oppressive small town.

Join us on March 19th at The Venue.  Doors open at 630pm and the film begins promptly at 7pm.  The screening is open to subscribers and box office ticket holders.  Attendees who wish to purchase a one-time ticket for this show may reserve a ticket on this site under the Box Office tab for a donation of $10 or may pay at the ticket window at The Venue the night of the screening.  Those that wish to subscribe to our annual series may secure a subscription by making a donation of $60 under the Subcription tab.  We will see you on the 19th and bring a friend who loves movies!
